By now you’re probably wondering: Which of these products do I really need to make my skin look its best? To help you make a selection, I’ve created sample regimens based on skin condition. Of course, there are many possible variations. You may have sun damaged skin AND acne. You might have just a few unwanted freckles and no other visible problems. These general recommendations will give you an idea of the types of regimens I recommend to my own patients. (Click the links for product descriptions.)
YOUTHFUL, PROBLEM-FREE SKIN
Congratulations! Keep your skin that way by wearing a sunscreen of at least SPF 15 anytime you’re out. Best to simply make it part of your morning ritual and wear it every day. This, along with limiting your time in the sun, is the single most important thing you can do for your skin.
MILD SUN DAMAGE
Fine lines; smooth texture; no significant discoloration
Use daily sunscreen plus ONE of the following:
Glycolic Acid (2X daily)
RevaleSkin (2X daily)
Cellex C (1X daily in AM)
MODERATE SUN DAMAGE
Noticable wrinkles and creases; scattered light brown spots; slightly rough texture
Use daily sunscreen plus TWO of the following:
Glycolic Acid (2X daily)
RevaleSkin (2X daily)
Cellex C (1X daily in AM)
Retinol in PM (or Retin A Rx)
SEVERE SUN DAMAGE
Deep wrinkles and creases; easily noticeable brown discoloration; rough, leathery skin or very thin "crepe paper" type skin
Use daily sunscreen plus THREE OR MORE of the following:
Glycolic Acid (2X daily)
RevaleSkin(2X daily)
Cellex C (1X daily in AM)
Retinol in PM (or Retin A Rx)
Bleaching Agent (2X daily)
